I have bronchiectasis, a consultant told me I have a lot of mucus in my nose and throat. my GP has written me a prescription for a nasal spray. I don't know what it is (I collect it today) I wonder if it's the same.
i take six capsules a day of that ,still cannot make my mind up if it`s working or not
Hi Titchyj. My Husband is on Carbocysteine. It loosens up the mucus and makes it easier to cough up. X
It works for some, but not for me unfortunately. My resp doctor told me to stop it, but I'm seeing the physio next week, so I might ask her for some tips!!
Good luck tho. xx
Never forget the mechanical ways to cough up, like clapping the chest and Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (to be done gently, not to cause hurt to the muscles already exacerbated by coughing)
Here's a reminder of a video on ACBT:
Hi all, thanks for your replies, I have to take 2 three times a day for two weeks then reduce them by half. Will let you know how things go. Have tried the huffing, but because I have fibromyalgia it hurts quite a bit as the muscles are sore to start with. Then I get muscle spasams which are crippling. Can't win either way, hope these help anyway.
