Hi every 1 hope yr all well, I suffer... - Lung Conditions C...
Hi every 1 hope yr all well, I suffer with bad anxiety and just wish there was something I could do to help myself.
Yoga practice, meditation and walking if you are able to, are good for anxiety .
Hi Daza I agree walking is a great help. Have you only started with it since being diagnosed and since you stopped smoking.
exercise is good and will make you feel better
You could ask your GP to refer you for cognitive behaviour therapy. They would show you techniques to help your anxiety eg. turning negative thoughts into positive ones, distraction etc. with a mix of relaxation.
I love this short meditation but then I am a big fan of Ruth, who is a healer working for the NHS and have had one to one sessions with her and taken part in her group. She is a healer (not a cranky cure - she works in the oncology unit and personally I find her sessions leave me somehow feeling stronger and calmer, more able to cope with the normal medical stuff we have to cope with).

Discuss with your doctor about this, he / she can recommend a therapy treatment that you may benefit from or a local support group you can attend.
What may also be of help is to join the anxiety support group on HealthUnlocked. To access it, Click on 'Communities' in the green band across the top of this page. Select 'Find a community' scroll down to Anxiety Support.
Your local college may offer some relaxation and meditation exercise class, yoga or tai chi as suggested above.
Good luck BC
Thank u Blakey c yr very helpful, will ask my gp for some practical support groups I may be able to attend if any.
Agree with cofdrop Daz. I've heard good things about this. Probably most of us would benefit from a course. Hard not to be anxious given what we've got! Keeping busy is another way but a lot easier said than done when anxious.Take care. Sara
CBT is very good Daza - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. You may be lucky enough to get some free sessions via your GP. It will help you change thought patterns from the negative to the positive . It really works - if you let it. Break the cycle. Go and get some support.
If you like reading have a look at NLP. I was NLP trained by Paul Mckenna 10 years ago and this really works too.
He has some great selfhelp CDs, have a look at them on Amazon and also check their reviews.
You CAN do it Daza. ...... all the best.
Hi Daza I did cognitive therapy after many years of really bad anxiety, wished I had done it years before it was brilliant and free through the doctors.
Go for it you have nothing to loose.
Good Luck

Hi Daza. if you fancy a free telephone coaching session with me, let me know. I have coached several people who had anxiety. Coaching is something like cognitive behaviour therapy, that you may be able to get that free from your doc.
A free telephone coaching session sounds great thank you x
