Sorry I have the opposite putting on weight and keeping it. I'm sure someone will come on with some helpful tips.whichever end of the scale you are it is difficult. Good luck with it.
Hi Miss-Piggy, I have had weight trouble for 6 months now i put on 2 and a half stone, I am losing 2/3lb every week just by missing a main meal three times a week and in it's place i just have soup and fruit. i will watch your other replies with interest. Matcass
Count your calories, weigh all your food and log it (Try myfitnesspal). meat is high in protein and actually not that calorific so giving it up probably won't make much difference. Your carbs are high calories so try switching from white to brown carbs like brown rice, wholemeal bread - they will keep you fuller for longer but most of all count your calories and you do that by weighing your portions. You could join a slimming club (I use one online but it costs money each month, however I think its great. 2 stone gone, but slowly and its not a diet as I still fit in the things i like, just not to excess).
Good luck - if you are very worried speak to your GP and try and get a referral to a dietician who also might be able to help.
If you can manage some exercise this will also help

Hi until recently i trained once a week with personal trainer ...intend to start again once seen new consultant and feel better. Hubby still trains and the clear advice our trainer giveks is eat good and clean foods ...protein in meat fish chicken etc should be the best you can afford and if you like takeaways make them yourself. Fresh fruits greek yoghurt porridge ...even my hubby makes home made bread as shop bought has horrible chemicals in so no no to that. The Gino d campo book and Dukan have lots of good recepies in . But basically eat well we have butter full fat youghurts mayo but because it tastes well you dont use as much plus it hasnt got nasty added sweetners or others in. Move more even if its going up stairs twice to start off . I have rheumatoid arthritis so cant do weight bearing too much but i do pilates and conditioning to strengthen inner core . I also ...although notat present as im ill horse ride my lovely mare so that gives me work out xxxjudith
curious about nasty sweeteners. And horrible chemicals in bread. I am interested because I feel these items shouldn't be on sale to the public. I did read that there has been a change of thought with aspartane in sweeteners - now ok. All very curious are these trends in eating. xx
I was watching tv other day due to being off work!! It was about a community making and selling their bread ...two artisan bakers were helping get them started and they had at least 6/7 different additives / chemicals which are added to pre packed bread.
I must study the content of my sliced bread. I must have eaten a lot of ~~~~ over the years, unintentionally. I wont buy organic food because I have heard some negative reporting about it. I try to eat sensibly but life isn't perfect. I have to say highly coloured cake icing really repels me. You bought up an interesting thread, tigershay. If I want a laugh, I bring up the word "sausages" with my highly vegetarian son. Although I will eat meat, I find it varies in
edibility (for want of a better word) probably due to a bad chew! To sum up, if the dish sends out bad vibes, I will pass on it.
Oh the great food debate eh??!!! Im lucky im not a sweet toothed person but icinv yuk ....my daughter wont buy meat anywhere except from butchers so we tend to do same i hate supermarket shopping so hubbys doing it with list and i have say its the best way to save money !! He only buys whats on the list . Xxx
Hi, have you tried slimming world? It's not a diet as such, more of a healthy eating plan and you can eat loads so you never feel hungry. Most of it you don't have to weigh or measure either. I have lost 3 stone so far
Try a free trial from Weight Loss resources on line. Very contactable staff but you do have to do a bit of weighing but it isn't a problem for me.
Hello Miss-Piggy I agree with what everyone else has said really.Portion control is something to consider I think we all kinda know the do's and donts its another naughty habit eh but if you dish your food on a smaller plate ,we are all guilty to some extent of having to much.Increase your veggies and maybe not so many potatos. When I have a sandwich I always toast my bread 1 slice, then it is easy to cut through the middle of it to give 2 skinny slices and i only butter one side it looks like a two slice sandwich,I find diets very restricting and make me think about all im missing out on lol grilling instead of frying or use that spray oil,for me cutting down and exercise is the other major ingredient to weight loss, cooking fresh not prepacked or canned if you are able. Again its a state of mind aswell if you really really wanna loose weight you most defo will be successful.Perhaps we should start up a cyber keepfit class and interact with each other say maybe once or twice aweek what do you think? Janexx
Oh thats a hood idea with toasting bread xx
You could cut out fat and sugar for starters?
I did that and lost 22lbs in 6 months.
More or less followed the Dukan method from Feb 2012, it suited me very well. I still start my day with a big bowl of fat free yogurt with 2 tbs of oatbran and have kept that weight off (apart from a few pounds over Xmas). It included a half hour walk daily and 2 litres of caffeine free fluids - though I never gave up my daily skinny latte.
If I needed to lose weight today I would use the 5:2, I've read very good reports from nutritionists about it.
Good luck, where there's a will there's a way
Look up alkaline diets on the net.
Also British heart foundation eating for heart and stroke.
This is healthy diet info and is worth browsing.
Tom.
I have lost 77lb so far on the alizonne.co.uk diet since mid August.
I can relate to your post, after so many years of trying to lose weight with this diet and then that one!! (the cabbage soup was the worst!!) I have found that "The Fast Diet" works for me. The weight will come off, for me it was 2lb a week at first. Then it drops down, I have also found that you do not want to eat so much. Hope this is of help.
Eat sensibly, that is not a lot! You can eat anything in moderation. don't skip a meal. Drink lots as this will eliminate excess water. apart from that, enjoy yourself!
Just remember a littleof everything does you good! dont give up meat it is an excellent source of protien and contains less fat than cheese. give up biscuits chocolate and cake and beer yes I know all this things we love but as I say smaller protions is the answer. Kind regards Irene
