I don't think it's related to the thyroid as the cough has been getting worse in the cold weather and my chest feels bit uncomfortable at times it also took my breath away this morning, but the doctors I have is not that good, not sure what to say to the doctor as he probably say need more time from the op, but I don't think it's related to the thyroid might have been a small part in the past but not now. Any ideas what is causing it so I can get the doctor to think about it.
Been coughing since last January, but... - Lung Conditions C...
Been coughing since last January, but had a full thyroid removed since September.
they sound like all the symtoms of c.o.p.d get another opinion and lm sure they will give you a lung function test and you will get a defanate diagnosis
What is c.o.p.d please thank u, in the past year I have had to lung function test and have sort failed them as they made me cough to much one of the test was at work and the other was at the doctors that when they sent to hospital for a check said it could be my thyroid had my thyroid out now, but the cough is now getting worse in the cold weather not sure what I should do.
Copd means chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Check blf pages on this, (click on red balloon top right for the link)
Best wishes BC
lm sure it sounds like c.o.p.d it took a few months to diagnose mine and a final lung function test proved it
chronic obstructive pulmonary desease this his the web site for people that suffer and if you had a lung function test and was coughing while blowing into the machine then its c.o.p.d you have cos that's what the consultant told me as that is what l was doing
Hi faceone. I really think you must call the BLF helpline in the morning, 03000 030 555. They are so helpful and knowledgeable.
They will help you with the right questions and requests to your GP. They willl know if the cough might be connected to the thyroid.
In the meantime (not tonight) look up all the information about lung problems on the BLF website. Knowledge helps you understand.
All the very best to you and please let us know how you get on. Peeg
I agree with minkymoo.
Don`t let it worry you but, do insist that you get an appointment with the lung clinic for respiratory test`s and if it is copd, you will get the treatment you need.
It must be very tiring and upsetting to be coughing all the time like that and even if it is not copd, then they will find a reason for it and you will get the appropriate treatment.
Kind regards.
Tom.
Hi, it could be a sensitivity to something in the air, for example an allergy to dust, or could be the result of scar tissue from an earlier chest infection. Do talk with the consultant about it. Suex
