Hi everyone! Can anyone advise me on small battery/ plug in nebulisers for saline/ventolin nebs please.

I have checked out various sites online but there is nothing like recommendations. I have a portable nebuliser that works on a large rechargable battery or car ciggy lighter, but its past its sell by date, and its big and heavy, and I would like a small light handbag size one to allow me to go out and about again.

Any thoughts and comments welcome as always.

I had a Microair for ages as a travel neb. Its OK but not the most powerful thing to get me out of an acute attack when you need it to be fast in severe attack but was good for routine things. I used it for quite a few years. Then I had a Pari mobile boy. Great power but noisy and not the lightest. I now have a pari e-flow expensive but silent and super fast. I admit my need is lightweight as I can go nowhere without a neb, silent so I can use at work but even more important powerful to whack back to back nebs into me when lungs do a big strop.

I got Omron Microair from Evergreen Nebulisers....they are very helpful if you ring....for travelling. Its runs on AA batteries and you need to carry spares in case it runs out when you are away from home. Its small and very quiet. I also bought a mains nebuliser for home use which is stronger.

My old portable was a big Freeway, but it had a rechargeable battery, but no more spares were available.

Hi we bought a little one from evergreen products its really useful and small enough for a handbag we have used it a couple of times and seems to be good. Works much faster than the big one at home and needs a little water. Good luck x x

I bought a portable one from Maplins. Came with 240v lead and 12v cigar lighter lead. I was really impressed with it and so went back and bought the battery. Really good battery life. I've used it as my everyday machine for over a year and no problems.

just copy the above and paste on ebay search and you will see this model foe about £15, i have got 3 of these. they work frpm mains adaptor or from 12 volt car battery with the correct lead you can buy on ebay fro £3,, i made my own but beware they are opposite polarity to normal 12 volt plug... THE POSITIVE IS THE OUTER CONNECTION THE CENTRE PIN IS THE NEGATIVE, GET THEM WRONG AND IT WILL RUIN THE UNIT, then you need to buy a 12 volt battery to ork it portable , ie if you cant plug into the car.. hope this helps

I bought an Omron Micro-air for a trip to the USA It was brillaint and i just used it ever since DOn't nebulise now but it was an absolute boon when travelling
