Strange lung sensation ??

This week I have really suffered a new horrible sensation, my right lung feels like it's made of stone !! And when I breath out its really painful it's like the muscles in my chest are having a spasm really scary ?? Any help please x

Hi Carol this sounds awful. I wonder if it's what I had years ago? I found any breath really hurt and I felt ill as well. I was so bad I called an ambulance. The doctor said the big muscle into my chest cramped up and I probably had an underlying chest infection.

Please don't take any chances with your lungs and go to A and E if you are worried. x

Hello Carol, I think you should get it checked out, don't suffer it, lungs can collapse, or maybe its a cramp caused by your meds, I would see a doctor to be on the safe side, hope you get sorted, huff xxx

Hi hufferpuffer I have told the doc about the cramp/stitch or whatever it is as per usual just shrugs shoulders " could. Be muscular" it is a little easier this morning thankfully, thanks for your reply take care carol x

Silly doctor! Carol, he could have at least seen you and prescribe some Ibuprogen gel (Prescription only). Try to see another doctor, a second opinion from the hospital if necessary. who knows what happens if it's not examined? Sorry for you.

Hi Hellingmic, thanks I know I do think a lot of the medics have a tunnel vision when it comes to patients with copd ! Hope one day soon someone somewhere will find a few more answers and relief for us, till then we will cling on to this site for dear life lol xx take carecarol

I occasionally get a similar sensation when my diaphragm seems to seize up and it feels as if it's a rigid bar. I think it is caused by a muscle spasm and just let it pass. Usually if I breathe in icy cold air. No other symptoms

Hi galexinda yes it does feel like it's some kind of muscle spasm battling with my bottom ribs, at present I am wretching an awful lot daily getting rid of mucus so it's hardly surprising my insides must be in turmoil, thanks x carol
