pulmonary re habilitation ( do exercises under supervision ) at the hospital
It just means exercise jim, usually a series of classes teaching how to exercise properly and safely alongside a series of talks to educate on your condition.
It means Pulmonary Rehabilitation - it is a course run by specialist respiratory nurses for people living with lung conditions. The length of the course varies but my husband is in the middle of a ten week course - twice a week. One hour is for supervised exercise - that is the nurses check his SATS and monitor him. Each week the time for each exercise is increased eg. he started at 1 minute per exercise and is now at 1 min 45 for each. The exercises are specifically to help with lung capacity and mobility. It has made a tremendous difference to his ability, confidence and endurance. In addition there is an hour of information about COPD - medications, symptoms, how to deal with an exacerbation etc.
My husband was referred through the specialist respiratory team but your doctor can also refer you. Could not recommend it more highly! I think it changed my husbands life. Take care. TAD ss

Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) information and videos
It childcare settings PR means parental responsibility. The is another option too in a health setting but I'll let you google that one.
Is wonderful is what it is. Best of luck on yours.
PR is Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is the best treatment I've had since I was first diagnosed with Respiratory trouble back in 1976. It should be part of the treatment package together with inhalers and other medicines. I started PR in August 2012 and had to use ambulatory oxygen in order to keep my Blood Oxygen levels OK. My first session was for 30 seconds and it was increased gradually until on the final session, when I did 3 minutes on each of the activities.I have continued with 2 sessions of organised Rehabilitation at a local Leisure Centre and I also do 2 or 3 Home Rehabilitation Sessions every week. I feel better in myself than I have done for years and I aim to stay that way. Tets
thanks to all who replied i now know what pr is and will give it a go,thanks again jim
