I will be thinking the very best your way. My former boss of twenty years received a liver transplant. She got hepatitis over thirty years ago. She would not communicate with anyone for several years ...her spouse said she, was protecting us from her sad state. She was always that way when she should have reached out ----- she kept it all in. Not good for any!!
Anyway........ I was in the drugstore two weeks or so ago. There she was hugging me, talking and laughing. I just kept crying & laughing. So wonderful to see her this way.
How long have you been on the list? Patty was for six years.
I watched a lung transplant and a heart transplant on TV a while back!! Amazing the difference!!! Friend in Florida has had 3 kidney transplants over 32 years. Still going strong and I know the anti rejection drugs are supposed to be much improved. God's Blessings on you that all will soon be in your favor.! Ozzysmom
Hi sue iknow of at least one person who is on the transplant list so hopefully they will pass through soon and have a chat.I really hope your wait for new lungs is short for you and you will be on the road to recovery asap.Keep well Janexx
Hi Sue, you'll be pleased to know your not alone on the transplant list. I have pulmonary fibrosis and have been on the transplant list for around 7 months now at the Birmingham QE. Mind you at my last 3 monthly check up my consultant is starting to think again. Since getting on the list I have lost 2 stone in weight as requested by the consultant to improve my chances of surviving the operation and this has made a big difference to my condition. My 6 minute walk has improved by 90 meters and I am using my oxygen much less. He said that everyone who walks through his door is getting worse but I am getting better. He wants to see what I'm like at the next 3 monthly check and said he may have to think again on whether transplant is my best option. Its very possible that I may be off the list by Christmas which is something I didn't expect,
Tony.
. That must be wonderful to hear, they do say exercise is the best thing you can do. I am going to pulmonary rehab again so hopefully I may see some improvement although I do know I will never be fit enough to do without a transplant. Keep up the good work. Sue
