Sat out the back of my local, a nice cool pint, under an old willow tree, nice and peaceful, a little water feature burbling away behind me, just perfect

Not a good day for those with seasonal allergies and an aversion to pollen, this heat just makes it more miserable. My son is sat indoors as he can't go out, if he did he would be sneezing and getting terrible nose bleeds
I've been to a PR session, and didn't even get halfway through the exercise schedule before I had to give up, getting to the section of the hospital where the course is held had already taken it out of me and I just pushed a bit too far...
Now the wife's complaining 'cos it took me so long. I left at 12.30 for a 1.30 session, to give myself time to park, get to the entrance, stop and rest, get to the lift, stop and rest, take the lift to the department, stop and rest... Coming back was the same, so I got back here at about 3.45, and she's now having to wait to do Tesco as it will be full of schoolkids at this time, then the traffic will be heavy until after tea...
There are days when I wonder why I got up - I'm not allowed out much in direct sunlight - it says so on the packet of Doxycycline so can't even crack the bikini out
I have them as well but i refuse to let them get the better if me, you should try it one day, armed with anti histamines, and Ventolin, ya don't know what ya missing,
The antihistamines have been part of my daily routine since March and I always have a Salbutamol inhaler with me. Sorry today, they are not helping...
Maybe I should have quoted the topic 'What a lovely day' and added, now watch some blighter spoil it...
Sorry to hear your having a rotten day and that things did not go to plan at PR Gordon sounds like not much thought went into where they sited it if it's a long way from the car park. I sympathise with your wife though hate shopping when the schoolkids are in I find it intimidating not that its your fault it sounds like your having one of those days.
Hope you are able to perservere with the PR though as I know you went through a lot to get it . Take care and don't overdo it
Julie
It's a big hospital and the department I need to go to is physically not far from the car park, it's just that you need to go down a corridor to the lift, or stairs if you really want them, then back down the way you came on the floor above.
What they've done with our hospital is to cut back the amount of parking available on site and opened up a park and ride from the racecourse roundabout down the road, about a mile away. You get to park for free, lots of spaces, and a free shuttle bus drops you off at the main out patients entrance.
The problem then is that it's even further away from the Rehab unit. The disabled area I park in is probably the nearest point to where I want to be,
It's even more annoying that this was brought up at my DLA Tribunal hearing last week. Despite clearly stating that I have to stop and wait several times to get my breath and that it takes me such a long time that I need to arrive an hour or so before an appointment just to get to the department, I was refused DLA mobility because they deemed that I was able to walk - through attending PR sessions. Even more unbelievable was the reason given by the head of the tribunal - they refused my appeal "...as he is receiving treatment and his condition should improve.". That's what it says in writing, she verbally used the words '...will make you better.' !!!!
I've told the staff running the PR about this and have their support and sympathy, I've just dropped a letter in for the consultant to let him know too as I don't think PR is going to cure me, as was implied by the tribunal. There are also some concerns over conflicting information given by consultants and my GP, which didn't help my case.
I'm feeling a bit rough, knowing that yet another chest infection is about to take hold. I've got my standby meds at the ready...
I am lucky with my PR venue. I can get to within 15' of the door. Today it started at 10am so it was reasonably cool. Sorry yours is a pain to get to Gordon.
Bobby
Hullo, Gordon. Really sorry to hear about the PR. They should tailor the routine to your needs. Try to bear with it but it does sound getting there is hard. Hospital corridors seem to go on forever - for me I would resort to a wheel in my case. I have a TRip to Addenbrookes to the Respiratory on 22/7. The hospital is connected to the Cambridge University - a massive place to go through. Park and ride bus then the corridors.
Hope that your chest infection isn't too bad, Gordon. Love annieseedxx
Mines a guinness ,I'm on my way.lol
Enjoy
Pint or shandy works for me
Hospitals should have those moving walkways like airports
Daz,wouldn't that be great.
You still propping up the willow tree? xx
Lucky you. I have been told one alcoholic drink could kill me. No I am NOT going to try it
