About warm discount

Can anyone tell me if scottish power has the warm discount scheme i know they have it for electric need to ask do they have it for gas thks

It's all the same thing with the same company, they don't split it between the utilities.

Hi, looks like it's just electricity. Think you will be able to register for 2013/2014 soon, if you qualify.

It does say on the Scottish power website link that the application are now closed... I am a customer and never heard of this scheme.... Too late story of my life haha!

Hi, no, that's for last year's applications. For this year coming (2013 to 2014) some of the suppliers are already inviting applications. I seem to remember a while ago Gordon saying you automatically get it if you are in receipt of certain benefits - if you are not in receipt of those benefits but still on a low income you have to apply. Although the warm discount is for electric, if you have dual fuel with Scottish Power it is credited off your whole winter bill for both gas and electric. You have to claim it each year unless as others say, you receive certain benefits. These facts can be found on the individual utility companies sites and some allow you to apply on line. Heather8 you are like me although I am on the vunerable list with this company I missed out the first year as I knew nothing about it and Scottish power did not tell me. I have made a point of getting savvy since(smiles)

I don't know about the Scottish one but we applied at NPower for free cavity wall insulation and loft insulation and was told it is now only for people on certain benefits. The old one finished in January 2012 so we were too late with the application, I wanted it doing last year butt grumpy in his bossy ways wanted to wait until this year so now we have to pay for it and he refuses to pay so we have lost out.
