Starting new inhalers doesn't work immediately (sorry if you've already been on Symbicort for over a month), they can take up to 3 weeks to fully take effect. Does it tell you how long on the leaflet? The manufacturer's website will have have a video on correct usage or youtube just to be absolutely sure (I took Seretide with a spacer incorrectly for a long time causing my asthma to be uncontrolled).

I’m afraid steroid inhalers such as Symbicort do take a few weeks to of regular use to take full effect. It can be up to 6-8 weeks but you should gradually improve.

The blue salamol inhaler should help with immediate relief. If you’re not getting any relief when using it I would make an appointment to see the asthma nurse or gp asap.
