I have noticed for a couple of months that I have been getting out of breath whilst sitting down. For example when watching the television I am constantly gasping for air. “Air hunger” as I call it. It feels like i constantly have to yawn just for a satisfying breath if that makes any sense.
Could someone help me find out what it could be? Thank you

I would get a check-up..I get more breathless lying down so I sleep propped up.
Is it at the same time of day when you relax? Early evening? Time for your inhalers maybe?
It depends on your age, fitness and activity at the time. Pop in to your chemist once a week for a few weeks at the same time of day, then take results to GP if chemist is not knowledgeable.
Yes it’s every day where I’m constantly yawning to get a “proper breath” if you know what I mean. Thank you I will book an appointment with my asthma nurse. Thank you!
You definitely need to visit a doctor, but I wanted to let you know that I had exactly the same thing as you. I got referred to a respiratory physiotherapist. She was brilliant. You get given breathing techniques to practice, but the main thing that I gained from it was getting to understand the difference between breathing difficulties caused by my asthma and other sorts of breathing difficulties, eg stress or general overbreathing. Good luck
