Hi my asthma has become uncontrollable even though on highest doses of inhalers and I am now being referred for biological testing. Has anyone else been through this and if so does it help?

Has anyone been referred for biological testing?
I'm on Tezspire now. I've had my third jab and now my wife is all ready to give me my 4th at home (NHS x) I feel a lot better sometimes and never as bad as was.
I’ve been on Xolair for 4 years. It’s been great for my asthma. I noticed a big difference after only 2 doses. Unfortunately I have other serious lung problems but it’s wonderful to have the asthma under control
I have been on Fasenra since aug and have not needed steroids or antibiotics since….at least not yet! Also it seems to have made a huge difference to the continuous gross stuff!
Really hope you get accepted and they help!
I've been on fasenra for 2yrs.its v worthwhile.the only drawback I have is after 3x1mthly loading doses they are ea 8 wk and for me,they wear off last2 wks.but even so, the benefits whn it works are great.
I have been on Tezspire since August. Its been a game changer. So much better within days. It does take a while to be accepted (6 months for me). You have to go through several tests and they have to apply for funding. I have an injection every 4 weeks . I googled the cost and apparently its cost the NHS nearly £1300 per shot! Thank goodness we don't have to pay in the UK! I hope you get accepted. Take care x
Morning. Not asthma but thought it was worth a mentioned that after years of unsuccessful time consuming treatments for psoriasis my daughter was referred for biologics treatment. She is now clear of the condition which has greatly helped the arthritis which goes with condition.
hi I’ve been on Nucala for 18 months. Life changer. Only problem I had was last summer with the Covid vaccine change. But all good now thankfully. Good luck
I have been on Fasenra for a while now and for me it has been a life changer. No longer need my nebuliser, prednisalone and inhalers. Occassionally I use the ventolin inhaler. I have had a couple of chest infections and then it went right back to how it was so that was a shocker but overall I am just delighted. I hope you are able to get it too. As someone mentioned already it is mega expensive. I don’t even know if there are asthma nurses anymore but mine put the case forward for me to get it approved. She looked at my blood tests over the years and particularly eosinophils. She had been there when I went to the GP once and had double pneumonia and was sent straight to hospital and she was genuinely upset for me. So I think having her find out about the biologics and make it happen was a big plus. Good luck with it all. X
