For the third time having the covid booster jab it has kicked off my asthma and a chest infection. This feels a little too coincidental, when I put the question to the GP he dismissed it as probably an immune system issue and prescribed the usual steroids and a new expectorant. This avoiding more antibiotics, so see how that goes!
I just wanted ask the community if they had any similar reactions and how that has been addressed?
Thank you and blessings to you all.

Hi, I had my covid jab on Tuesday and by Wednesday morning had an awful cough and bringing up mucus, the same thing also last 2 years so I feel it is a reaction to the jab, hope your feeling better soon.
I had my booster a couple of weeks ago and just felt slightly rough a few hours after. A couple of paracetamol and a sleep and I felt OK again. Sore arm for a week. I had a different shot this time, Moderna Spike. I've had one Astra Zeneca and 2 Pfizer. No real reaction those, apart from a sore arm.
I am waiting hopefully for my Covid vax as was missed out last year. I have a stinking cold which went straight to my chest so asthma worse, so many viruses about atm, everyone seems to have one, so could be coincidence or maybe you were incubating a virus before you had vax, impossible to know. I would rather have vax than Covid! Hope you recover soon.🤞
I take precautions before, during and after vaccinations, drinking plenty of healthy fluids, take plenty of vitamins - particularly C, eat kiwis and anything else fresh n healthy to boost my immunity. Last week had covid & flue vaccinations, covid side sore a few days, feverish 24 hours later so early night etc then absolutely fine. Its pretty normal to feel feverish after vaccinations but if goes on too long seek medical advice.
Vaccinations don't give immediate protection, that takes a couple of weeks to develop. If you suffer from regular colds, coughs, have mucus in lungs, recently taken antibiotics your immunity will be low and you'll catch or grow all sorts
I met a young male asthma nurse at our local hospital about five years ago. I asked what one thing helps him and he told me he takes a Vitamin C and Zinc lozenge in a glass of water everyday.... I started doing this and honestly haven't had a really bad cold OR covid at all since
Where do you get them from please.Me too, I do take zinc daily and have some quality vitamin C 1000mg to drink at the first sign of sore throat, sniffle or blocked nose. I take them wherever I go - especially stays with the grandchildren! Similar to you, I very rarely develop a cold these days, best thing since sliced bread imo 😃
Both the Covid and Flu vaccines cause me chest flare ups. Last time I had a flu vaccines I ended up with antibiotics. 🤷🏻♀️Last year I didn't have either vaccinations because I was too poorly. I'm still deciding whether to have vaccinations this year. I'm only just getting over a flare up and chest infection!
First two times I had covid jabs I was fine but each time after the reaction has been worse. Last year I was really ill for weeks, incredible headaches and ended up very chesty. This year I've had my flu jab ( which has never caused me a problem) and my personal decision this yr is not to have Covid jab.
I've had every COVID jab offered, and never had any adverse reaction. I had flu jab at the same time. Flu jab spot was a bit sore for a day. COVID jab arm was not sore. I'm 79.
After having flu and covid vaccines a couple of weeks ago I havent felt well. I had just finished a course of my rescue meds and I'm again feeling ill, just waiting on results of further sputum test. I'm just hoping everything is clear but I feel dreadful.
I get an asthma flareup every time I have a vaccination of any kind - my immune system has always tended to have a very strong reaction to vaccinations, so I assume that my asthma is just reacting to the extra stress my body is going through. I just try to keep myself as fit and well as possible pre-vaccines and try to make sure I have 2-3 quiet days post-vaccine so that I can rest as much as I need to. It's not pleasant, but at least it's not as bad as the illnesses themselves!
Same here jd, breathing was fine. I had covid in June, was fine apart from post covid fatigue which lasted 3 months so I'll take all the vaccinations I can get ××× 🤗
very. I managed to get my usual kickback from the Covid and flu jabs…..pretty standard for my immune system to react since it seems to always be on high alert
Thus far I have had no problems with Covid Booster, having it this week, a bit concerned as I had my flue jab saterday, but probably the consquence of getting covid is worse. last year I caught it and it stopped my cancer operation.
I had covid booster last Thursday and was very unwell on Friday with severe headache, aching in all my joints. Then that settled but feeling very tired with little energy, gradually improving. Fortunately my asthma has been no worse. Hopefully you will gradually improve. As someone else said, better than getting Covid!
