Anyone find they're better on certain brands of salbutamol?

Sorry I feel I've rather unleashed the floodgates πŸ˜‚ i keep thinking of more questions lol

So I collected my prescription and rather than ventolin they'd given me a generic. I'll admit I was wasn't very pleased πŸ˜‚ I get a bit funny about things looking the same and this one was a different size to my ventolin and was matte not shiny. I've been on ventolin since I was a toddler so it really felt like we'd been through thick and thin.

I'll admit. I had trust issues with this new inhaler πŸ˜‚ I've reacted badly to generics I've been told were identical in the past. So imagine my surprise when I had a flare and couldn't find my ventolin so had to use the spare. It tasted awful so I wasn't very happy... and then it kicked in! It's so much better than ventolin lol.

From the funny taste and the 'feel' of it going in I think it's the propellant? It feels lighter than the ventolin and I get the idea more might be going in. Anyway. Anyone else had this?

I'm one of the weird ones too. I get on better with the generic. When I have Ventolin, I immediately feel that my breathing is better but then comes a couple minutes where it feels like I can't get the air in fast enough. I don't get that feeling with the generic one.

Yeah my ventolin never lasted 4 hours and I always needed more than 2 puffs even when I was well. I was chalking it up to having been on a dual beta antagonist for so long as I know there's research there showing that in some ppl the long acting ones impact the effectiveness of short acting ones but maybe it was just the propellant lol

It's just a generic salbutamol

It's the ivax one by the look of it, it's also smaller which is handy as it'll fit in my epi pen case better!

I'm gonna compare the ingredients at some point
