has anyone applied for priority banding for social housing due to house conditions worsening asthma? Anyone have any experiences just wondering if it’s worth giving it a shot. I believe the house I am staying in is making my asthma worse due to mould and ventilation issues. Landlord has not nothing more can be done I’m currently looking for another property

priority banding house due to asthma
It's certainly worth raising as a reason for being rehomed, but it very much depends on the council and the availability of housing as to how seriously they take it. Last time I applied, I was in a room with no heating in winter, mould everywhere, and I came back with the lowest banding possible, stating that I was 'adequately housed but wished to move for personal preference'!!! But that was in an area where people who were street-homeless had an 18 month waiting list, so I guess it wasn't surprising. In an area with a shorter waiting list, they might be less inflexible.
It will also depend on the council's understanding of asthma and that it can be impacted by mould and damp. Some councils ask for permission to contact your doctor, but if not, it might be worth seeing if you can get a letter from your GP to send in support of your application.
