do you use your inhaler with the chamber or on its own
I use a spacer with my aerosol inhalers because I find it more effective. I can’t breathe deep enough or fast enough to get the medicine into my lungs without it. The spacer allows me time and more breathes. I carry one with me in my bag at all times. Takes up space but worth it.
When I did the NHS Pulmonary Rehabilitation course a respiratory nurse/trainer told us that using a spacer was preferable because in doing so you get 50% more of the medication than in not using one. I've used one ever since (with MDI/spray type inhalers). Since using them I find that some residue collects on the inside over time, I'd rather that happens than sticks to the soft tissue of mouth. They need to be cleaned and washed regularly as per instructions therefore 2 are needed on rotation
Use spacer with trimbow. No spacer with ventolin
I use a spacer with Fostair, I find it much more effective with the spacer.
My son and I use a spacer, much more effective and I find better than not using one. I use it for Trimbow and Clenil Modulite tho not when I am using the ventolin at mo but will consider it for the future
I use a short spacer with Salamol. My preventer inhaler DuoResp Spiromax 320/9 is a dry powder inhaler, so I don't use a spacer with it.Originally spacers used to be large conical shapes which didn't work well for me. The short spacer is much better. Fortunately the preventer works, so don't often use the reliever.
I use a spacer with my Fostair and Ventolin. My lung consultant said the spacer helps get more of the medicine into your lungs and deeper.
But I can only use the one with the mask, the mouth piece spacer doesn’t work for me.
Spacer with Trimbow and with the rescue inhaler. It's bulky, but it's worth it.
I never used a spacer for years, wasn't given one. I'm now on MART and my asthma nurse has insisted that I must use a spacer. I find tidal breathing with the spacer is very effective for me but it's been a big change for me as I always used to just sneak a puff hoping no one noticed. I've just had to learn to accept the looks some people give you when using a spacer in public.
