Clenil making me wheeze?

Hi

Has anyone experienced wheezing and a tight chest after taking their Clenil inhaler please? I’ve realised there seems to be a correlation between me taking it then this happening and then I need to take my blue inhaler. Thank you!

I had Clenil for ages, then Qvar both of which, I finally realised gave me asthma briefly. Changed to Flixotide now the same. Wonder if it's just coincidence or that any irritant sets off sensitivities. Also atm am taking Cetirizine re seasonal allergies as they also give me asthma. AND so do bonfires etc. Please consider others before you burn stuff! Thank you!

Thank you. I hope you can find something that helps more. I wonder if it’s something I’m sensitive to in the inhaler too

If your clenil is making you wheeze then there is an issue and you need to talk to your medic.

Hi

My son who is 10 was put on it like a year ago and doesn’t like taking it. He used to say the same thing and would take salbutamol afterwards. Trying taking salbutamol before may be to open up but I think using it for sometime gets rid of this issue as my son doesn’t complain this anymore. I don’t know how long you have been using it for if it’s long then definitely speak with your doctor.

Thank you. I’ve tried taking the salbutamol first now to see what difference it makes. I’ve been on it 4 years but I’m only now realising there might be a link 🙈

How long have you been taking it? I was on Clenil for about a year after diagnosis, and I found that I needed to use my Ventolin immediately after taking it for the first few weeks - I think my lungs were in such a state that anything set them off! But after a few weeks it got easier.
