Warning. Very clever scam.

Well I nearly got caught on this one. Just had a phone call about loft insulation. I was about to hang up when British Lung Foundation was mentioned. Apparently they had commissioned a report that found that fibre glass loft insulation was a lung irritant- quite believable especially when delivered in a cockney type accent. I was seriously thinking about agreeing to the free survey but then thought does BLF still exist. So I told the lady I would like to look into it further.

Searched online for BFL report and on the blog is a statement about this.blog.asthmaandlung.org.uk/b...

It is a scam. No report has been done. BFL have not issued a warning about loft insulation. Take care people- this is the cleverest one I have ever come across.

Cripes, that's scary! They are so devious. Well done for checking and alerting us. 👍 Hope they get caught but doubt it, so many about now, hard to trust anyone. Hope you reported it to police too, they send out warning notices online and in press so everyone is aware. 🙀

For reasons like this I don't pick up from a phone number I don't know unless I'm expecting a call from my doctor. If someone does want me they will leave a message and I can call back

These scammers know how to use people's fears to manipulate them. It's so easy to be caught off guard and now I don't answer the phone if I don't recognise the phone number, then I Google the number and call back any legit numbers.
