Mannitol Test

I have just had a mannitol test. The technician just said you probably will not react and it is very rare for it to cause an asthma flare.

It was a weird feeling, it was like something growing in my lungs which got steadily worse.

They stopped on the fourth capsule, and just told me to get up and go.

Getting up was not easy, it was not a pleasant experience, and my lungs are very definitely unhappy.

My wife came with me, which was very fortunate. I had happily believed their letter which said they would make sure you were OK before you left.

Results will be when I see the consultant in January.

Mannitol is unlikely to cause an asthma flare - there may be a co-incdental reason. See your GP if you are still unwell.
