Hi everyone
Recently someone posted a reply to someone and said they used a throat spray at the first sign of infection, I can’t find the post and was wondering if they minded telling me which one they use?
Thanks

I gargle Listerine at the first sign of a sore throat and suck vit C/zinc lozenges (Listerine is antibacterial, while zinc is supposed to be good at tackling viruses).
But if you're buying a throat spray, I would get an antiviral one if you want to target a viral infection/cold. There are anaesthetic sprays on the market that soothe or numb the throat, but they won't address the infection. Antibacterial/antiseptic sprays aren't going to deal with a virus either. Talk to your pharmacist, they should be able to help, depending on what you want the spray to do.
NB that there are sprays that contain NSAIDs, so if you have a sensitivity to aspirin and ibuprofen, be careful and read the small print.
Vicks first defence nasal spray
Do you use that on your throat Patk1? I'm intrigued, does it work?
I gargle at least 4 times a day with sea salt in warm but boiled water and it helps me very much if my throat is bad.
