Does anyone else feel like they have a tight chest only in there throat when it is inflammed due to a virus? I am using my blue inhaler and it is helping but I am convinced it is due to my inflammed throat not asthma.

Inflammed throat
Hi,
I feel something very similar. They tell me mine is acid reflux/pepsin coming into my throat. The tightness, cough and wheeze (in not out) is definitely in my throat not my lungs. My blue inhaler works for it but the steroid inhaler makes it worse.
Hope you get sorted
I am finding my steriod inhaler makes it worse too. I thought I was wappy. Thank you for this!
Mine started with a cough 4 years ago then breathing problem (from throat) 2 years ago.
It’s up to us to do the research and push for the tests I’m afraid. Don’t just settle for PPI’s if the doctor puts you on them. Nasty things!
Good luck
been on PPIs for years now.
Ah! Have you had a Peptest done? This measures the pepsin in your throat. It’s only supposed to be in the stomach! The PPI’s take the acid away but not the bile and pepsin. Alkaline water is somewhat useful but you have to be religious with it.
No I have not had a pep test. Can the nhs offer this test?
No it’s a private test and is about £70 I think. Just google Peptest and it’ll come up
I do not need to do the peptest. I regurgitate all the time. I will make up alkaline water using lemons or lime. I will begin drinking this with a view to being able to stop esomprezlle as it is doing nothing for my osteoporosis.
I had tonsillitis recently. There’s a lot of it about at the moment.
