Lost inhaler

I was away this weekend and left my inhaler (fostair nexthaler 200/6) on a coach I was travelling on. This means I will miss tonights, tomorrow morning. I was at the very end of my current one but ordered a new one on friday. I should be able to pick one up tomorrow after work.

I have missed 2 days before when I took a spirometer test and was okay. Summer is a good time with my asthma. I think I will be okay. I am just looking for some assurance.

In the past, when my asthma has been stable, I have been fine missing a couple of doses.

A pharmacy can sometimes issue emergency inhalers, never had to try it though. x

I have received repeat medication from a pharmacy without a prescription in a similar situation. It was some heart tablets before the days of electronic prescriptions. The pharmacy knew they were on my repeat medication list, there had been human error at the medical centre, and the prescription had not reached them, although the medical centre was next door to the pharmacy. It was a bank holiday weekend.

A couple of doses will be fine aslong as you feeling ok. Your normal pharmacy will give you one if you are stuck and prescription late. Hope you had a good weekend.👍

Once I was walking uphill & started being breathless, I walked down a bit to a chemists thinking they'd issue one by calling my doctor (it was my town but not my pharmacist). They did but charged me £7 for a ventolin. Maybe if it had been my own pharmacy they wouldn't have charged. Do you have a ventolin to use if you get breathless before you aquire your Fostair?

I do hope you'll be okay while you wait.

don’t fret - you should be fine for a couple of days if you have access to a blue reliever inhaler as a back up
