Anyone on Fostair.I switching from Symbicort to this today

Bit apprehensive but will try anything as tired of my asthma being so poorly controlled currently

I like fostair a lot. It took me a couple of months to settle with it though.

There are lots of variants of it.

Nexthaler, the powder version, and then fostair 100 and fostair 200, the propellant versions.

If you are on fostair 100 you can do the mart regime, where you do not use ventolin as well, but instead take extra fostair up to a limit.

I am now on fostair 200, but I did best under fostair 100 mart regime.

Fostair 100 has made a huge difference for me. It did give me the shakes every time I took it for a couple of months, but that stopped eventually. 🤗

I have found Fostair 100 MART regime utterly brilliant and life changing in that my paper thin skin has improved immensely, it no longer rips off at the slightest bump (inincluding Soft tissues of throat) - that was from years on Seretide. I love it and know when to take more or less through the seasons (asthma worse at night in winter & changes in temperature). I hardly ever use ventolin now except during exacerbation. I always rinse before & after inhaling plus use a spacer.

ps persevere with it, sometimes things go a bit dodgy on changing meds & it takes a couple of weeks to settle down..........also, we're all different with different reactions/needs. P

me too though I prefer not to use the MART. Regime due to my blood sugar levels being high I only increase on my doctors advice. X

I didn't know blood sugar is affected 😬 although I'm on MART from medics advice, probably because I'm worse in winter and at night.

I was told to use MART regime but it’s the extra steroids involved that put me off. X

I use Fostair 200 (aerosol) before I clean my teeth morning and night. Gargle once and swallow twice to keep my throat clean. My asthma is well controlled now.
