I am on fostair 200/6 which I found did not help on its own. After many flare ups and oral steroid courses and various add on inhalers I was referred to a consultant who prescribed me a spiriva inhaler to take as well, that was 3 months ago and I’ve not had any flare ups since, asthma Best it’s been for the past 18 months. Was told the fostair 200/6 was the highest steroid inhaler you can have.

I’m on 4 puffs twice a day of fostair and also braltus once a day.

That's interesting. I will keep that in mind if needed

You are on a higher dose than me.

Consultant told me two puffs twice a day of Fostair 200/6 (4 Puffs in total) was the highest permitted dose. Because the Steroid component is fine particle I believe it’s maximum amount of inhaled stetoid currently allowed / recommended.

Because my asthma is difficult, I was put on that, with a view to reducing it in the future. Was supposed to go and see consultant tomorrow for a review, but it has been cancelled. Not going now until the end of March. They told me recently that they aren’t sure now if it is asthma, but told me to keep taking meds. Had lung function and a high density ct scan.

They said that the way the oxygen moves from my lungs into my blood stream has showed a problem. That’s why I had the ct scan. My blood tests showed hypersensitivity..

I feel tired all of the time. A few weeks after adding in the braltus, my ‘asthma ‘ doesn’t seem so bad and I can feel an improvement. Just a shame I have to wait another couple of months to get my answers. It’s not their fault, it’s the government directive.
