Hi there, I think it is a ferritin test, testing iron levels for anaemia - I googled and found this info -
too much ferritin is > 1000.
The normal range for blood ferritin is: For men, 24 to 336 micrograms per litre. For women, 11 to 307 micrograms per litre
Hope this helps xx
It may be helpful to edit your post to say that it's pred levels - currently that information is in a new post which is confusing, and is likely to get separated from this one so people won't know what you're referring to. If you look at the bottom of your post, you should be able to see an edit button so you can change it as needed.
Do you know why they were testing? I wasn't able to find much on Google either but I did get the impression your level was a lot higher than is needed for 'replacement' levels of steroid. Which would make sense if you're on a high dose.
I would keep trying to get hold of the asthma team as they will know why the test was done and what it means. Or you could ask the nurses on the helpline here tomorrow to get an idea: 0300 2225800 or WhatsApp 07378 606 728 Monday-Friday 0915-5pm
