Tritace or Risprivil (same thing)

has anyone been prescribed Tritace for high blood pressure. Woukd appreciate any comments.

I was prescribed Ramipril (Tritrace) for HBP but my asthma consultant was non too pleased when I saw him as this group of medicines aren't great for asthmatics. He was right, I had developed a constant cough and my respiratory tract was reacting. I'm now on Losartan Potassium 50mg plus lifestyle changes.

I also had to come off Spiriva, an asthma inhaler, as it was exacerbating my HBP. So have a medicine review with your doctor to ensure your current med regime isn't making the BP worse.

Thanks. I am not endeavouring to take these. Side effects of vertigo I could not handle or dizziness cos I already suffer from these

My blood pressure’s come down since I started Spiriva! (I take amlodipine, candesartan and doxazosin for the high blood pressure, but I’ve been on that combination for several years, started Spiriva 4 weeks ago)

Spiriva was great for me for about 8 weeks and then I started to feel slightly unwell and extremely unwell after a couple more weeks. In that time my BP had gone from normal to through the roof. My asthma nurse took my BP before I started Spiriva because of the possibility of the BP side effects, so luckily we had a baseline to observe the increase in BP in such a short time frame. I must admit the first few weeks on Spiriva I felt absolutely great & was bitterly disappointed when everything went south.

Amlodipine and Ramipril definitely controlled my BP but they badly affected my asthma and my consultant swapped me to Losarton. I'm working towards coming off that too, thanks to lifestyle changes supported by my asthma team.

Spiriva seems to be working so far, so I hope I won’t have problems in a few weeks. I take my bp every morning (bp, pf, bg!), so I should spot any changes straight away.

HiI was given Ramipril which I believe is the same as Titrace when I first had high blood pressure about 8 years ago.

I had an allergic reaction to it during the first week of taking it. This was not related to my asthma, but my lips and face swelled up when I had a minor knock. This happened twice (accidental knocks by exuberant puppy 🙄) so the doctor took me off it and put me on Losartan and I’ve been fine on that.

Thank you for that. Yes I cannot understand why I have been given this tablet because I have been on amlopidine for last 8 years and 3 months ago I had a bp monitor on and my GP said it was working fine for me but this is the hospital who have prescribed this but as I suffer from vertigo I am not going to take it. Furthermore the doctors were very vague abou twhat I am on it for cos my bloods were good ecg good and chest x-ray goof so the mind boggles🤣🤣

I think if it’s giving you side effects the GP should change it. If I was you I’d contact your GP and discuss how the new medication is affecting you.All the best.
