Tapering down steroids on 7.5mg and feel absolutely awful, is this correct

What did you start on? Might be worth speaking to whoever prescribed it, or your GP or 111.

I was on 25mg and slowly tapering down on 7.5 mg for two weeks then down to 5mg

I'd call 111 if you're struggling a lot.

Someone else with more experience will hopefully come along with more information and support.

I'm in a sort of similar boat, but currently on 50mg, so the taper will be difficult, particularly if my GP is right about having adrenal insufficiency/Addison's!

Hi , it can be yes ... steroid withdrawal is hard going .. I was on 20//5mg daily for 5yrs. It took me many attempts to wean off eventually it took a whole year .. I found at 10mg I needed to go even slower .. I Finlay did it at 1mg every 4 weeks

For asthma I can take 40mg for 7 days and then stop. When I had Polymyalgia Rheumatica I reduced much more slowly. It took just under 4 years to go from 30mg s day to 1mg a week, after which I stopped. Some people with polymyalgia Rheumatica get stick at 5mg.

Hi I have been struggling with this for a while now. I was a maintenance of 10mg but my cons wants me to try and get to 5mg as I also have adrenal insufficiency. They are trying to get me started on mepo.

I seem to find that every time I get below time I have a flare up, very frustrating but will keep trying. I taper by 1mg per month after 10
