New medications

Am now on week five of my new medication regimen. Am taking azithromycin 250mg three times a week, montelukast at night and fostair 200/6 twice a day . I am still coughing alot at night but am definitely starting to slowly see the difference. I am still not able to run or walk up the stairs and still have to pace myself but the good thing is that I have not had to use my ventolin inhaler as frequently as before.

I also take azithromycin three times a week and have adult onset asthma. It’s hard to control at times , But pacing yourself is good and always carry your enhailer with you all the time. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

That’s good news!

I’ve been on azithromycin (among other things) and I think it has made a difference for me too.

Onwards and upwards! 😁🤞

Me too - I think Azithromycin was magic - actually stopped the coughing! I hope you continue to get stronger

I'm on Fostair 200/6, Montelukast and Qvar 100 4 puffs a day. I have late onset non allergic eosinophilic asthma which is well managed on this medication. Have you tried a regime of another inhaler like Qvar? My Private Consultant added Qvar when I had a chest infection that took forever to get over and I am better on both inhalers. Worth a thought mine is moderate I'm not classed as severe. However was advised to shield as wasn't always moderate asthma in the beginning.......I'm female was diagnosed when I hit menopause I'm now 51 was diagnosed 4 years ago. I was fit as a fiddle before I was diagnosed but noticed on blood test results going back to when I was pregnant I have high platelets that was an indicator that I probably had asthma developing and menopause hit along with the asthma.....
