NEXTHALER QUESTION

I've just started on FOSTAIR NEXTHALER switching from the ' aerosol' one.

I tried to see what a dose looked like by tipping a dose on my arm. Nothing came out but neither does the counter change.

How do you tell if the powder is coming out, I could be sucking air for all I know.

You can taste it .... at least I can anyway

Also if you don't use the dose by inhaling it the dose ends up back in the chamber .... I think it tells you that in the patient leaflet ..... or a YouTube video I watched on how to take it

If it's working, you should hear a click as you inhale (I was told this by the asthma nurse when she asked if I could hear it, meaning the dose was inhaled). The dose counter should also move; it's designed so that only a successful dose inhalation affects the counter.

Some people also find it tastes a little 'gritty' and that's how they know.

It tastes sweet too .... I assume that's the lactose in it

I can't say I've ever noticed a click inhaling, but know I've inhaled something and then the counter moves when I close the inhaler? Been using it for years so will reread the instructions when I open a new box in a few days time.
