Does anyone else feel sleepy on Montelukast?

I’ve been on Montelukast about a month now and feel sleepy and not quite ‘with it’ through the day and need to nap, Is this a common side effect? I know some people get vivid dreams/ nightmares, but my sleep is fine - I just seem to need too much of it and wondered if this side effect will go off. 😳

I felt terrible on it - had to stop after a few days as I was so sleepy

I don’t feel bad, just tired. Hoping it’ll settle down 🤞

I didn't feel ill just really sleepy - you are the first person who I have come across who has had the same reaction - most people say it gives them vivid dreams if it effects their sleep

Yes I heard that too. My sleep is quite heavy but not unpleasant. I’ll persevere for a while. 🤞 ☹️

I slept badly taking it of a night but do OK with it when taking it of a morning

Think if I took it on a morning I’d sleep all day 😂

I found it gave me vivid dreams and made a tad warmer so my sleep wasn't as "good" and it did leave me tied during the day

So I switched to taking it of a morning ans mmd have been fine ever since

Monetlukast can affect sleep patterns and it's entirely possible that you don't sleep as well through the night, hence feel unrested and sleepy to make up for it during the day...

Yes I suppose you might be right.

It’s hard to tell really 🤔. I fall asleep easily and sleep all night (apart from slight disturbances from husband visiting the bathroom and snoring- which I’m used to! 🙄). I wake up feeling like I do with some more sleep, but get up and take the dog up, so I’m properly awake. But an hour or so later I feel like I could get back in bed and have another sleep 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I’ll have to persevere until I’ve given it a good couple of months to see if it’s helping. 🤷🏻‍♀️
