I take VitD3 4000iu (plus co-factors VitK MK7, Boron & Magnesium 365), Fish oil capsules (not fish liver oil), zinc, VitB6 & 12, potassium. I take VitD3 & co-factors for the immune system as my VitD levels weren't high enough when tested. Co-factors help absorption of the VitD3 and prevent calcification.

The rest is for my blood pressure and helps reduce it, magnesium is also good for BP health. But it's good to have blood tests regularly to ensure levels are not too much.

Research has indicated that VitD3 has a role to play in reducing asthma exacerbations. The NHS are offering VitD3 to asthmatics this winter because of its role in a healthy immune system.

Hi Sarahjane. I have had a letter from the government and they are sending vitamin D3 to us CEV people (though it is quite a low dose) because of lockdown and people having to spend a lot of time indoors. They are advising it for bone and muscle health. However, the Royal Brompton requested a blood test to check my D levels as they recommend it to help strengthen the immune system. I have taken D3 for a while now and I’ve added in the co factors. I take other supplements too. If anyone watches Dr John Campbell channel, there is a recent interview on there with David Davis that is very interesting and worth a watch. It is not specifically directed at asthmatics but very interesting.

Meant to say dr John Campbell’s YouTube channel! The interview is with David Davis who was a politician but is also a science bod who has been researching the effect of vitamin D 3.
