Hope that you’re all keeping well. Last month I had an Asthma Flare-Up and was advised to take extra Fostair through the day to help settle it. 4 Weeks on I’ve had a bit of a Cold and think that it’s gone into my Chest. Chest has been tight and Ventolin relieves it but then wears off. Have managed to get an Appointment with my Asthma Nurse tomorrow. She did mention on the previous Phonecall that they would possibly prescribe Antibiotics or Steroids. Don’t want to feel like am wasting there time 🙈 sorry this wasn’t really a question!

If it's asthma flaring (which is likely given your cold) steroids would be more useful than the antibiotics. If symptoms indicate a chest infection then antibiotics would help if it's bacterial, but obviously not if viral..... but often GPs give antibiotics regardless, which is a bit pointless.
But if things warrant it, steroids would be the definite thing in my opinion.
You're definitely not wasting their time though. Tell them your symptoms as you have described here and peak flow changes, if you track that.
You did the right thing Steph. I had to contact my GP last week as my asthma had been going downhill and I was coughing up mucus. A quick telephone chat and he OK'd me starting steroids, and antibiotics if the steroids didn't clear the mucus. It's always best to deal with these things promptly so as to avoid an attack or a stubborn chest infection that's been allowed to take hold.Hope you're feeling better very soon. All the best.
