Hi my athsma is usually very well controlled. I have been using Duoresp as a preventer for just over 2 years and have seldom had to use my inhaler. In the last couple of weeks I have developed a dry cough, mainly at night and I cough until I nearly vomit. I have tried drinking water and am already taking omeprozole for acid reflux. Obviously given the current situation I am concerned it may be a coronavirus symptom, although I think that may be unlikely. Does anyone else suffer with this and if so how do you manage it. I hardly get any decent sleep. TIA.

I sometimes start with a derby cough. I take one or two puffs of salbutomol more or less as soon as it starts. It quickly settles it and I can go back to sleep.
I keep an inhaler on a spacer at the side of the bed and use regular deep breathing to take it, not the deep breath and hold technique.

I've been drinking hot orange (diluting) with a spoonful of honey in it and I'm hoping that will help me sleep better tonight...
