Hi I was one of first to get a letter with guidance to shield to end May. I see the latest letters said end June. Just seen on gov.uk shielding is in place till end June. Has anyone seen anything on what the ongoing process will be for notifying of extensions as I can’t imagine it will be quick?

I’ve only had my letter recently, and it doesn’t give an end date at all - just says ’at least 12 weeks from today’ (day it was written? received? no clue). Whichever, it runs into (at least) July, as it was dated 14th April, arrived on the 17th.

Consultants and GPS should have updated the NHS database with patients they identified who missed the initial digital sweep. Therefore all shielding patients should now be on the shielding list and will be included in further communications without the need for additional sweep ups.

I've had a third letter, this time from the hospital. That takes me to the middle of July.

I asked the GP about this and it’s 12 weeks from the date on your letter. I don’t get how that makes sense as everyone will be out at different times. But that’s what the guidance says at the moment.

Hello, I've had asthma for years, it started after our first daughter was born, I had my first ever attack had to be put on oxygen.

I'm now a key worker, working in retail, I enjoy my job and all my team mates look after me.

Thankfully I've had no problems getting my medication from our brilliant local doctors and chemist.

Stay safe everyone and stay home
