Hi, I wrote a post a while ago and so many replied - thank you. By some miracle they rang me because they had a cancellation at the severe asthma clinic so I've now been seen. You were right - they are wonderful and all so knowledgeable and I feel less insane. They diagnosed severe esinophilic asthma and have recommended me for biologics (fasenra) so waiting for the approval now to go though. They said it prob won't be a problem but there's a process so will take a few weeks. I feel so relieved that there's some help and hopefully this will help me. The severe asthma consultant also explained that actually my tiredness is related because the eosinophil counts are so high and I'm having so much inflammation and infections that I really am tired and that it's very normal and that he's going to put it in the letter so the hospital consultant knows. Thank you so much to everyone who replied to my initial post - you really helped me see that I'm not alone.

That's amazing! So glad to hear you got in more quickly and they were helpful. Hope the biologics process is quick and you can start to get your life back soon.

Also impressed the consultant got the tiredness thing, and the need to put that in writing. I don't have eosinophilic asthma (and your numbers were pretty high so I can understand that wouldn't be helping!), but any poorly controlled asthma is tiring and I find that's often not well understood by medics. So it's great that he got it and made a point of telling you why you were feeling that way, and noting it in your record!

Yes he really was so good and yes I'm so happy he will put it in the letter because I told him I kept being told there's no link. They were such a good team and it was so helpful seeing everyone seperate as well.

Hi Blueberry37...it is the first time I have seen your posts and I am so happy for you . It sounds as though you are in the same position as me...and I can't wait to start the biologics ( am now waiting for approval). I too get very tired so tend to do a little housework and then sit down or rest on the bed. Surely tiredness would automatically be a common symptom? Lack of oxygen into the body causing laboured breathing ?

My e asthma is late onset...it's come as a shock. It's so debilitating...it brings depression too but I have hope now.

Hi , same here adult onset. I feel a bit stupid that i didn't even know you could develop it as an adult. Hope you don't have to wait long to start biologics.
