Heart rate
My pulse rate is usually high. After I had flu nearly two years ago, it didn't really come down so my GP put me on Bisoprolol. My heart rate is probably still higher than it should be but it isn't as bad as it was. If you are getting any chest pains or finding it hard to do daily tasks, I would see your GP as soon as you can.
I’m on steroids every few weeks at the moment, and I always get palpitations. They settle when you either reduce or come off them.
Papitations come when you use salbutamol capsule. Are you on prednisolone
I’ve pretty much been on them since August. On vent nebs, atrovent, hypertonic, salbutamol, seretide etc etc so I expect to have a few more sleepless nights with it
Absolutely. For me that’s a given. Other folk get the munchies or difficulty sleeping, etc., etc.,
Once the course is finished your pulse will return to normal.
It’s not pleasant at all, but i do find if I get under the duvet for an hour and play some meditation music it helps tremendously.
Try not to worry about the palpitations. Easier said than done I know. But worrying simply increases them further.
Hope you soon feel back to your usual self.
Good wishes
I've been on 30mg pred for the last 10 days and heaps of ventolin, for lower resp infection, danger of pneumonia, and inevitable asthma flare-up. Pulse is v high too but I suspect the large doses of ventolin are more connected than the pred. Are you taking ventolin? Hope you feel better soon.
Maybe it is the side effects of steroid. My GP told me that prednisolone has alots of side effects
Using salbutamol more for relief can create a faster heart rate and can make you shake too.
