"You should contact your GP if you think your heart rate is continuously above 120 bpm or below 40 bpm, although this could just be normal for you."

Hi Cutts2345,

A normal resting heart rate is 60 to 100 bpm at rest . How quickly were your walking? Also if you have been using ventolin a lot this can cause a tachycardia.

If your heart rate is persistently fast you should see your GP .

My heart rate was persistently fast and I now take medication .

Good luck.

Kind regards Maryeileen.

Hi, your heart rate will increase on exercise . The rate should depend on your general fitness , age and size .

Do you feel unwell or more SOB ?

If you are fit and regularly exercise your target heart rate is 220bpm - your age .

If not fit, much lower. If your resting heart rate is high (> 100 Bpm at rest ) See your Gp . You may require a 24 hr tape will will assess your heart rate and heart rhythm.

If unsure please consult your Gp .

Good luck .

Kind regards Maryeileen .

Hi Cutts2345,

You should seek your GP and get a referral to a cardiologist.

The fast heart rate could be caused by a combination of things .... being unfit , raised BMI , raised temperature or infection. The chest pain is worrying. Please see your GP and if severe attend A+E .

Wishing you well.

Kind regards Maryeileen.

What Do ü think it might be heavy pressure on chest worst night

It may be fluid in your chest cavity. I advise you to seek medical advice. You may need a chest X-ray.
