Hi all hope you all had a good Christmas and New year. So I'm focusing on my asthma again lately and I know my long history with anxiety doesn't help at all. I had a spiro test a couple of months ago and they said it wasn't to bad at all my peak flow is always between 550-600. Iam about 40 ISH pounds overweight and started smoking about 5 months ago again. I'm trying to change these factors but it is hard. I'm on symbicort but some mornings I forget to take it and don't do it till late afternoon not sure what effect that would have. And due to smoking I have developed a very phlegmy cough
Just looking for some advice and support really
Thank you

Try and give up smoking.and also a little swimming will help .I know it's hard but possible.i gave up alcohol 4 years ago and started swimming.so I can do it so can you it's not easy but what is .one day at a time start to today .
Keep your Symbicort next to your toothbrush, then morning and evening, take your Symbicort, rinse your mouth to prevent oral thrush, then brush your teeth. You will find it becomes automatic, and that way not forget.
You probably know yourself that you need to stop smoking. You are making yourself worse, and may also be causing others to suffer too. One of my triggers is smoke from those I pass on street, in door ways, I even get affected by the particles on clothes. Seek support from your doctors surgery.
The effect of the body craving the nicotine will be increasing your underlying anxiety (as well as the guilt and worry about smoking in the first place).
You know you need to give it up, get along to the GPs and ask what programmes they have for smoking cessation support. You’ve done it before and you can do it again, it just needs a little focus to replace the habit forming aspects of it and ride the cravings.
You will feel better both mentally and physically - go on, be kind to yourself
