Mannitol Test

Has anyone had a mannitol challenge test recently? I reacted quite severely to it and 24 hours later feel like my asthma is not stable.

Hi Jules, sorry to hear your not feeling to well. Please see your gp or go to ane if you become worse. I have supposed to have this challenge test twice but not had it yet due to being on prednisolone courses and being repeatedly unwell s the results wouldn't be accurate. I was told they would give you a nebuliser to reverse the effects afterwards but if this hasn't helped you 100% please be careful and monitor your symptoms and seek medical advice. I hope your feeling better or have found some relief x

Not recently but when I did I reacted to the first dose. A neb sorted it but was told it must be quite severe to react quickly. It wasn't so I thought oh well that's a bit dramatic. About a year later it had become so....so watch out!

Agree to see GP ASAP though if you don't feel right.
