Spirometry test
No tell them you would like to speak to the doctor they cannot hold information from you like that for a month. You really need to find you a specialist because as bad as you want to hear your result. I'm for one not about listen to any of that you have rights. Please find you another doctor they will help you better than what them ppl is telling you
Worn out to be fair breathless walking up the stairs not to bad but then because I don't know my mind doing overtime.
Hope fully will get telephone consultant tomorrow. Have actually been quite tearful must of the day
Dont let it stress you out like that. Everything b ok talk God because that's your answer to everythin. Take it slow and I hope they do call you tomorrow and tell you.
Thank you and you are right I need to hand my fear over to God thank you for reminding me
Amen and youre very welcome
Results in asthma and copd need to see nurse next week I can't stop crying
Don't cry stay strong it's manageable but not curable. I been dealing with my asthma since i was 4. It gotten worse in 2009, 2012 which result me being on ventalior and since than 2018my asthma acted up from September to Dec and I cried wanted give up several times but I had faith and people being me fighting as well made me strand strong and push through because Gods not finish with me yet and he's taking me through that storm....But remember this
God gives his toughest battles to the strongest
Do not get stressed it might be your doctor isnt clued up about your results he may think its better explained from the consultant .
No it was not my Dr. It was consultant secretary who said it would be better if consultant went through results with me. I didn't know why my Dr couldn't as the nurse does those test at surgery. I just guess after hospital admission in December(first time ever since being diagnosed). I have been stressed I will go back into hospital. I don't know why she feels only consultant can explain it to me. Unless it's something to worry about, that is really how my mind has been working.
I would not mind but I won't see the consultant until end of Febuary..which is a long time to worry.
Thank you for your response.
Philippians 4:6-7 New Living Translation (NLT)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
For you Emily I know your worried but give all to God and he will calm your fears.
Thank you for you very important message..I know I cannot walk in faith and fear..I will try to walk in faith. Again thank you so very very much
Sorry got it wrong still a secretary will not be able to give results in case you ask questions and they havent got the knowledge to respond positively. Seeing you are not getting your results until February thinking it can't be that urgent so try not to worry .
Why can't the consultant or his registrar pick up the phone or is that beneath him !
Hi they have sent my results to my GP so awaiting a telephone consultation, hopefully today. Thank you for your response.
The secretary is following procedure. She can't give you results over phone because what if she a non medical person doesn't explain what the results mean correctly to you.
Hospital staff are very busy that's why they have the secretary and appointments are made so the time is assured.
They have done the best they can if you want your results sooner in that they have sent them to GP who a) can do phone consult or you can get an appointment for. The GP is going to be part of your treatment team eventually but the GP will be guided after your appointment frm the hospital as to your treatment.
It does not mean that you have anything to worry about. It say more about policies/procedures and time constraints.
Hi I did not ask consultant ask consultant secretary to give me results over the phone..I asked her if the results could be sent to my GP so he could go through it with me, as I did not feel after all the drama I went through, which I have not fully shared on here, that I could go through another month of stressing. Sorry if you assumed I expect her to give me results, as I would not expect her to.
Update she phoned to say my results are with my GP now
Just an additional response I as a nurse am fully aware that secretary is not a medical professional, but last week she did advise that my results would be sent to my GP, I phoned for update as she also advised my results would be with my GP Tuesday, do made appointment and results was not at Gps. So to avoid another wasted visit to my GP, I phoned for an update on when my results would be sent, this is when she stated it would be better to see consultant instead of my GP.
Hi sorry that wasn't clear your adds make it clearer.
I understand how frustrating that is.
I had some tests done at hospital and was waiting for ages then got sent to another hospital because the consultant I'd seen had gone on long term sick and the new consultant wanted all tests done again!
Hi think it wasn't clear as I started a new thread, out of sheer stress. All I want is to be able to have a clear understanding of the condition of my lung. Whilst in hospital first time ever since my diagnoses, a Dr put something on my discharge letter that when I challenged it, another Dr same hospital, stated it should not have been put on there without being tested for it. That was December 3rd 2018. This is why a. I don't feel mentally I can wait until 24th Feb for outcome and b. Regardless of outcome need to know sooner rather than later so I can with my health care professional action plan.
And although I appreciate policies procedures and the over worked NHS my anxiety has been triggered by Dr of the NHS.
