Generally speaking, it means the medication you need to take to keep your asthma under control & stay well. If you're unsure about how it's being used (by a health professional, for example) let us know, but that would broadly be what it means.
I am on a maintenance dose of 10mg Prednisolone a day for my Asthma and have been since 1989, it normally keeps my asthma under control, but it has been raised when I have been in hospital, or when I have had to take antibiotics, you must always carry a steroid card as in my case, and show it to any medical professional.
As stated below by minushabens, it is your regular medication. If you’re still not sure what it is, contact the practice you belong to for advice.
