Good afternoon,

I have been using Fostair200/6 for two years. I have been getting strange marks on my arms. Usually they are about 12mm and look a little bit like bruises. Quite often overnight one disappears and a new one appears some distance away. They do not hurt at all so they are definitely not bruises. Does any one think they might be caused by Fostair. I have a blood test booked for the third of June 2019

Thanking you in anticipation

I was on Fostair for about a year and didn't have purpura as a side effect. Have you checked the product leaflet to see if that's listed as a possible side effect? My issue with Fostair was cramps and muscle pain. Good luck.

Thanks. I had really bad cramps when I started Fostair. My asthma nurse confirmed the cramps were caused by Fostair. She gave me permission to reduce the dosage to one puff twice per day. If I have no cramps I increase to two puffs twice per day. It is a lifesaver. I will have to be patient and wait for my blood tests.

Thanks

I too have these red marks on my arms, having been on Fostair for over a year. But often these are as a result of a very slight knock and they last for over a week. The nurse told me they are caused by years of inhaled steroids. I think they are worse since I’ve been using Fostair.

I also have small reddy brownish marks on my arms, legs and a few on my face. I thought they were like age spots and never connected them to Fostair 200 which I have been on for quite a few years.

The really weird things about mine is they do not hurt like bruises and they disappear from one place and move somewhere else overnight. According to DR GOOGLE there are two main types of spots. One where blood platelet count is low. The second where the blood platelet count is normal. I am waiting for my blood test and I was not told to rush to hospital so I do not feel to bad. I think Fostair and steroid inhalers brilliant. So I hope I can keep taking them.

Thanks everyone

It's generally aspirin that causes it.?

Thanks I have not had any Aspirin since Jan 2017 when I was diagnosed with Asthma. My doctor does not seem to bothered but she has booked a Diabetes test for me next month. I do not know why I have to wait a month.
