After 47 year of being asthma’tic I have had two red light visits to hospital one for inhailed reflux into my lungs and the other for pain in my chest, back and shoulder. Had CT scan on 2nd visit where they found the spots. Is this normal for someone like myself who has been asthmatic for 47 years

A spot on the lungs usually refers to a pulmonary nodule
If your doctor sees a pulmonary nodule on a chest X-ray or CT scan, don’t panic. Pulmonary nodules are common and most are benign or noncancerous

Update - Had a pet scan then a lung biopsy and no cancer so relieved! Told me it was scaring. But will follow up in 6 months with another CT scan.
My asthma is much improved changed medication to Relvar 184/22 Spiriva Respimat 2.5 and I think it may also be helped by Omalizumab (Xolair injection I get for my urticaria. This has resulted in my peak flow normal of 100 to go up to 320.
