I have recently been on a course of a/b's and prednisolone for chest infection pneumonia verdict from GP, I have asthma and I was coughing up phlegm and generally feeling unwell, flu like symptoms and having no energy, my GP wanted to give me more prednisolone at a reduced level, i am not feeling as wheezy and getting my energy back a bit, and do not like being on prednisolone, but should I be on second dose on reduced level?

Hi,
It depends on what dose you are on and how long you have been on it. It is not recommended to quit suddenly but to reduce the dosage slowly. This is to allow the body to adjust itself and to take over as you gradually go off it.
