Sorry if this is really silly!
Do people get better PF readings when it's done as part of a spirometry test or do other people's PF readings on PF meters match those on spirometry machines?

Even if you have a spirometry, your PF is still taken with a PF meter. artp.org.uk/en/patient/lung...
Yes I know but it's part of the machine as opposed to doing it with the home peak flow meters.
When I've gone for a spirometry test, before they do it, they use a meter just like the ones you use at home. the sprometry machine performs different tests. Pulmonary function testNormal value (95 percent confidence interval)
FEV180% to 120%
FVC80% to 120%
Absolute FEV1 /FVC ratioWithin 5% of the predicted ratio
TLC80% to 120%.
Completely different to the PF test.
The machine does measure PF too but when I did it recently and mentioned I had a home digital meter doing both, the physiologist doing the tests said there is a different blowing technique needed for PF vs other measures - so suspect that it might be preferred to do it separately. I think they were mainly after the FEV1 and other measures this time really - have also had them measure PF separately on a handheld meter.
