Hello ☺️

Since I had the asthma attack at work and all the mess with how they wouldn't let me go to the hospital etc. It got worse as the staff I work with were incredibly rude and inappropriate so I took it higher to the business director and he has supposedly dealt with it.

I'm still not back at work as I was back in hospital twice, rushed straight to the MAU at a different hospital who then decided to re-open up the gate to the possibility that I have inducible laryngeal obstruction which is possibly making things worse. So I have to go for another laryngoscopy in 3 weeks. This is what they suspected a year ago to date but nothing ever came of it so it feels like I'm going back to the beginning. Seeing my consultant on the 7th as he is going to start looking into other treatment alongside mepo.

Does anyone else have this? If so, what is the treatment process? They said it would be SLT and respiratory exercises but im just wondering what that entails?

And if anyone has any other treatments alongside mepo?

Thank you in advance ☺️

Can't help with any experience of the conditions or treatment you mention, but hope that you feel better soon. Good to hear that you have an appointment with the consultant on 7th.

Hi Amber - I've been diagnosed with ILO inducible laryngeal obstruction and so far have had 4 SLT appointments. Some focused on ways to manage and break the pattern of my cough and then they moved on to diaphragmatic breathing techniques with various vocal/non-vocal sounds as exercises. I've got another block coming up so can keep you posted and happy to chat over DM if you have any more questions! Hope you start to feel better soon.
