I was on uniphyllin and have tried slo-phyllin. At the right levels it really helped me, unfortunately my body liked to go from untherapeutic to toxic very quickly, so stayed at a low dose til I came off in Sept due to a fast heart rate. Starting to miss it now the weathers changed so it was definitely doing something! It was my favourite drug when I started on it... the first time in years when I could ‘forget’ that I have asthma!

My advice is to avoid having excessive amounts of caffeine as that can increase the likelyhood of toxicity. Good luck x

@EmmaF91 hi what were the signs and symptoms that it was going toxic?

Tachycardia, palpitations, high BP, nausea/vomiting, restlessness, tremors, cramps, sweating, dizziness, headache, confusion, insomnia (seizures/heart arrhythmia if too toxic)

I never got too toxic (ie seizure level) but with all those side effects I felt really cruddy. Hope that helps you keep an eye out

@EmmaF91 thank you so much for letting me know I am about to have my aminophylline increased as the levels are low and was very unsure of the signs to show it is getting to a high potential toxic level.
