Sitting here watching TV from out of no where I starting coughing and the cough didn't stop. Is it my asthma or acid reflux (heartburn) ? Go grab my ventolin and do the 1 puff tidal breathing through my spacer waited then again after 30 secs. Making a difference possibly then more coughing more ventolin and finally it stops.
Sitting here suprised where did that come from? Felt absolutely fine no warning the weather storms change in atmosphere. It's very windy here , I been out of and about all day. Walking in it back and forth.
Trying to decide what to do next. Steroids maybe or just keep an eye on myself tonight.

I get the same sometimes, but it usually clears up. Possible cause for me is allergen (pollens, mould etc.) Dust or other irritant e.g. bonfire smoke or even from kitchen if my husband over cooks his toast (!), or if my rhinitis is bad then I think that can trickle down the throat and set off a cough attack. Once my throat is irritated it takes a while to settle down again. Have you taken your peak flow?
Peak flow 550 better than perfect have had 10 lots of ventolin. It's hour later. Chest hurts. I was trying earlier before those symptoms to blow my nose. I have post nasal drip and a polytic which hasn't responded to steroid nasal drops. Nonething coming out of nose tried douching just going down the throat. Waiting for referral to ENT.
Updated fell asleep in my bed. Tired and now am absolutely fine. I am counting that as an asthma attack but sorted out with using my asthma plan. Notice that asthma UK have changed it again. Now says refer yourself to doctors within 48hrs not 24hrs bit puzzled. As I said keeping an eye on myself.
Usual advice for me is 2 working days to inform someone of issues (asthma UK possibly changed advice to help with demand/supply issues GPs have at this time of year). I know it’s 2 working days post a hospital trip so...
I tend to go by if I’m stable (or self-managing control) I’m fine and can catch them up as and when, if I’m not (or if it’s gone on too long) then I let them know - however I’m a severe, uncontrolled asthmatic so if I went whenever I needed 10 of vent or needed to up my roids I’d be there almost every day 😅.
For me ‘random’ attack can happen and I usually chalk it down to an allergy that I was unaware I had come into contact with, me coming down with something, a delayed reaction to something (weather etc) or sometimes just I’m laughing too hard (cause as weird as that sound it triggers me 😂😅).
It could be that you’ve had a delayed reaction to the weather and that something minor (ie a little bit of reflux/PND etc) caused this attack.
Thanks for the advice. I have been thinking about what happened last night. I have come to the conclusion it was me trying to blow my nose quite hard. Nonething came out but instead back fired and went down my throat with a lot of mucus in one go. I am going to doctors on Monday and leave a message for the Dr who is trying to get me referred to ENT. If she hasn't done the form or even if she has it will add weight to the argument I should be seen. I knew that post nasal drip can irritate your airway. Last night prove the point.
