I would suggest that unless someone has recommended a private a doctor for asthma to you that you make an appointment with your GP. If you have problems with getting the help you need for asthma from your GP then phone the Asthma UK helpline and speak to one of their very experienced nurses for help.
In my limited experience just going private doesn't necessasarly mean better treatment. Occassionally going private might mean being seen quicker, but you need to check which doctor you are referred to and what their experience is.
